The Signs of the Time–Now that we have all survived the eclipses of October 8 and 23, let’s see what lies ahead. Since I am never one to hold back or mince words, rest assured that the mess we all helped make in the world through millennia and lifetimes, the Overlord reminds me to tell you that this is not reality; it is Reform School. Here is where we decide whether we want to store riches or help the poor. We need to throw in with the notion that life is about all of us and not just some of us. Om. Tat. Sat. Om.
Since the Solar Eclipse New Moon technically occurred the first day of the Scorpio Solar Cycle, may we tell you again that those born the first 10 days of Scorpio (October 23-November 2) will benefit most from this new start. It will affect all areas of your life. Those born in the first ten days of Cancer and Pisces as well as those born the same cycle in Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn will see a huge shift in great opportunities at home and at work. Eclipses are life-changing.
There is a Full Moon at 14 degrees of Taurus on November 6. This can be a doubled-edged sword aspect: something that those of you with Taurus Sun or Moon have been working on can come into full bloom, or it is time to end the area of your life the Full Moon is aspecting. This Full Moon will be more critical for Taurus and other fixed signs, Leo and Scorpio.
Mercury goes direct in motion at 16 degrees of Libra on October 26. Remember it takes about 19 days for the drag effect of a retrograde Mercury to lift and affairs move more normally.
There is a phenomenon known as a Void of Course Moon. As the moon orbits the Earth it passes through all the signs of the Zodiac. Every lunar month it travels through all twelve signs, passing through each in more than two, but less than three days. When the Moon gets near the end of each sign it goes beyond its last major aspect, or connection, with another planet. When this happens and until it moves into the next sign, the Moon is said to be “Void of Course.” This is a time when we can really feel unconnected and without direction. It is therefore an ideal time for centering ourselves. While the Moon is void of course, sometimes minutes to hours–or all day–it is wise not to make important decisions. Judgment at this time can be faulty.

Fire Signs
ARIES (March 20 – April 18)–If you decided to put on your Halloween costume and mask weeks early in order to hide from all the craziness the Lunar Eclipse Full Moon conjunct Uranus caused you at work and at home, think again. Sermon 1: If you have been in the greed game, take your lumps. Astro Talk 2: If you have been playing the Blame Game, read Yehuda Berg’s Power of Kabbalah. And lastly, nobody said that all you Aries were Moses–he had a mission, you were born with ants in your pants. My suggestion is to sit down and get quiet. If someone presents a proposition too good to be true, report them to the Better Business Bureau. And for full disclosure, your humble scribe has Mars in Aries. Om. Tat. Sat. Om.
LEO (July 22 – August 21)–It is time to hum the tune, “Everything’s coming up roses,” except when it’s not. Relearn the drill: the best times of the year for you Leos are December, April and August and also February, June and October. But since we are in the Scorpio Solar Cycle, avoid at all costs duels or fist fights with scorpions. I josh, but this is your lucky year with Jupiter, the blessed planet, in Leo until next summer. Shakespeare said ‘all the world’s a stage and the men and women merely players.’ He meant that your birth month is the time to take stage center under klieg lights and have your star turn. Enjoy the month. Keep more of your money in a safe place and don’t let your dark side get out of hand. This is a warning to all drunks, dope addicts and sex addicts. Clean and clear up the wreckage of your past and don’t get into trouble this month.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 20)–You probably have been feeling like you are a cat or kitten on hot tin roof with Mars in Sagittarius for all of October. With Uranus in Aries and your ruler, Jupiter, in Leo, things should be keeping you busy. Never forget that all of us have innate qualities that, like leopard spots, they fade with age but never go away. Your cosmic DNA is to roam seeking excitement everywhere you go. Your restlessness is also beyond repair in most cases. A wizard told me once that pain is the touchstone of growth. Your problem is that you only crave pleasure. I am giving you your characteristics because most of the planets that can throw you a curve are in alignment with Sag. Enjoy it while you can.
Earth Signs
TAURUS (April 19 – May 19)–My approach to life and astrology is to be direct and never dress it up unless it is a religious holiday. So, my Bull-headed friends, this is a month to pull back and not risk another dime in the volatile stock market–unless you like the rollercoaster ride more than the still, small voice of inner peace. With the Solar Eclipse New Moon on the 23rd at 00 degrees of Scorpio, the first two weeks of the Taurus cycle is going to be opposed. The signature of such an aspect is for the opposing sign, Taurus in this case, to pull away from the outer world and find a spot within and rethink where you are and what you are doing in all areas of your life. And always remember this is not the time of year for you. Hold to what you’ve got.
VIRGO (August 22 – September 21)–Venus will be in Scorpio until November 17 and Mercury in Scorpio until November 28th. I tell you this because you and Scorpio are good neighbors in the Zodiac. This is the perfect time to re-fi your house, buy a new car or ask for a raise or change jobs for better pay. Another choice in the hopper is going back to school to flesh out your resume. Many times we can’t wring a sou out of anyone and when a Virgo runs out of money, starves rather than go to the soup kitchen. But the best news is a stronger relationship with the one you love or are about to meet.
CAPRICORN (December 21 – January 18)–Mars will be in your Sun Sign for the whole Scorpio Solar Cycle. On the 8th and 9th you could feel overwhelmed from all the tasks that need your attention. Pluto and Mars will conjunct at that time and oftentimes that can mean double trouble. The good news is that it won’t last long and you are the one sign that can handle a resounding, “No!” Neptune in Pisces and Saturn in mutual reception to your Pluto in Capricorn will continue to be your allies throughout this period. Toward the middle of November, take five–go away. Some place peaceful and serene. You will be ready for a break from your daily routine.
Air Signs
GEMINI (May 20 – June 20)–With the Solar Eclipse Full Moon at 15 degrees of Aries on October 8th making a great aspect to you Twins, you may be letting go of one thing and embracing something else. Remember that Gemini is an Air Sign, so don’t get caught up in trying to figure things out, rather let them be revealed. An old sage once said if you want to know both sides of an argument ask a Gemini. And I always want to know which twin is talking and which one is thinking. Truth be told this Scorpio Sun Cycle is your time to iron things out, come to terms and then turn it all over to whoever you consider God or a Higher Power. The one thing about Geminis is that when the smoke clears, Gemini is oftentimes the last one standing.
LIBRA (September 22 – October 22)–Mercury will be in Libra until November 8. It might be a good time to clean up the mess that the Lunar Eclipse Full Moon left when it opposed your sign on October 8. And just when you thought Mother Nature loved you more than she was acting like, Mars and Pluto in Capricorn will square you this whole month–which means more challenges in the relationship department. And this can be business partners, wives, husbands, children, friends and enemies. Someone once said that the most balanced sign of the Zodiac is Libra. We’ll check in after this month to see just how smart you’ve been through these trying times.
AQUARIUS (January 19 – February 17)–While everybody else is wringing their hands waiting for the world to fall in you are seeing all the unrest in the world as an opportunity to bring people and cultures together. No sign is quite as loving and inclusive as you are. Did you ever wonder why you are so uncomfortable with all the hugging and kissing going on? You are a planetary being who wants to heal things not fall into the trap of deception. All of us are too apt to want to cry our way out of a dark place we created or pat someone on the back and whisper, “Poor thing.” Aquarians are warriors of the light who want to bring peace to all peoples. Is anybody ready to sing “Kumbaya?”
Water Signs
CANCER (June 21 – July 21)–Twelve times a year you Crabs are going to make change. But every day of the year you are either sky-high emotionally or in the dumps. The last Lunar Eclipse Full Moon in Aries rocked your sanity and stability because fire always crosses swords with water. The Solar Eclipse New Moon on October 23 will be more nurturing and beneficial to Cancer, especially those born from June 21 – July 10. There is great blowback while Venus is in Scorpio, another water sign. The Full Moon at 14 degrees of Taurus on November 6th will also be proactive for Cancer. It is all the lunations through the month that can cause you boys and girls to have a bumpy ride. Always remember we choose when to be born and when to cross over.
SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21)–If you’re trying to buy or sell a property, after Mercury goes direct on October 26th, you will sell for full price. With Venus in Scorpio most of the Scorpio Solar Cycle you should be in great shape financially and in all areas of your life. It’s a bit early for this good news, but Saturn will slide into Sagittarius on Christmas Eve. Ma grandmere said when I was a little boy, ‘My little child, wherever you go, take notes.’ That would have been my advice to you Scorpios with Saturn having been in your sign for almost two and a half years. If we don’t learn from the past we are sure to make the same mistakes. Take what you’ve learned and who and what you’ve let go of to make your world better.
PISCES (February 18 – March 19)–Since Pisces rules the feet it is tall time you Fish stood on yours. Since your ruler Neptune has been in Pisces for two and a half years we need to remind you to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I know you like to be dramatic and creative but your fantasies could get you in a lot of trouble. With Venus and Mars in favorable aspect to you this Solar Cycle, it may be time to pay off and not spend. If you have offended someone, make amends. It is one thing to know the logarithms of the Upper World but girlfriend it is still life on life’s terms. Fine, write a book, compose a song, or paint a picture. When it comes to practical and reasonable, you are not either one. It is time to grow up.
