The Signs of the Time–Every time the Sun goes into Libra I silently whisper, “Thank you God,” because from late September until October 22nd we all get to be more even-handed and fair-minded because if we don’t someone will come along to bite the hand that feeds them. Libra tells us to look at both sides of an issue and then put it to a vote. I would like to see all the political party folks come to the table and stop the rhetoric of division and destruction and find solutions rather than continue to be a jabberwocky of senseless nonsense. We will all have our chance to right the furniture and find the silver lining in the firmament as Jupiter moves through the sign of Scorpio.

Venus will be in Scorpio until October 9 at 6 degrees. It will go direct on November 16 at 26 degrees of Scorpio. You know the cautions about any personal planet retrograde. With Venus be diligent how you spend money; also don’t get into any money transactions like Stock Market or other investments. That’s not a lot of time to wait to jump back into your financial markets. Also on October 10 Mercury will sidle into Scorpio at 0 degree of Scorpio. With all these personal planets in Scorpio it is time for the Masters of the Zodiac to get into full fettle and do what they were born to do–fearlessly change the heart and soul of Mankind.

The other retrograde planets are Uranus at 0 degree of Taurus. Neptune will move backward at 14 degrees of Pisces. Pluto goes direct on October 18 degrees of Capricorn.

There is a Harvest Full Moon on Monday, September 24th at 2 degrees of Aries—which means that Fire Signs and Air Signs will benefit greatly. There will be a New Moon on Monday, October 8th at 15 degrees of Libra which again will benefit all Fire and Air Signs.

Mars is back in direct motion at 6 degrees of Aquarius. Mars can be very invigorating and it can also be very challenging and irritating. If you have been secretive, all will be exposed under this aspect. “What you sow, you reap.”

Saturn will remain in Capricorn for two and a half years. Since Saturn in Capricorn is all about rebuilding hopefully we will see a lot of changes and rehabilitation with infrastructure, such as with roads and bridges especially here in the USA.

For those of you in trial and error partnerships, whether a marriage, a love affair or in business alliances, this upcoming 30-day cycle could prove to be a make or break time. What survives will depend on recommitment by all parties.

Fire Signs

fireARIES (March 21 – April 20)–Your ruling planet Mars in Aquarius all month can give you a lift and heighten all the ideas you can conjure. The lesson to be learned here is that Aquarius requires a consideration for all of us not just the 1%. However with two planets still hemming you in from Capricorn you need to make sure that the deal is right and that you have joined hands and pocketbooks with the right person or group. However, you are free to spread your wings and fly. Make sure you check your GPS before you take off.

LEO (July 23 – August 22)–Nobody enters a room in full sail quite like a Leo and this month you can dress it up because you will be on parade. The New and Full Moons are a huge plus for you. You may want to be cautious with spending with Jupiter squaring you in the sign of Scorpio. For those of you considering changing jobs or trading in the daily grind for your passion, now is the time to strike out for greener pastures. If there has been a positive to climbing back up the financial ladder the last few years it is that life is too short to stay in a game you don’t like. Go for it!

SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 20)–A little advance notice: when your ruler, Jupiter goes direct into Sagittarius on November 8th you are going to feel that you died and came back a man or woman on a mission. And it is in the sign of the Archer for one whole year. The tide is turning enough to sweep you back on course with the roadmap you have been plotting for awhile. Expect the unexpected is your middle name but this time there will be no unforeseen skeletons that will fall from the closet or an unpaid debt that come knocking on your door. For the first time in a long time, you don’t have a lot of secrets or anything to hide. When they call your name, say, “Here I am, ready, willing and able.” Have fun.

Earth Signs

earthTAURUS (April 21 – May 20)–If the mirror on the wall is telling you that you are looking a tad bit like porky pig, it is because Jupiter has been opposing you for months. You should have switched to fruits and vegetables while Jupiter was retrograde—unfortunately for you bulls, Jupiter has been direct in Scorpio since July 11. This aspect can spell trouble for your personal relationships as well as your finances. A good suggestion would be to hit the gym and lay off credit spending. If there is someone in your life making double trouble, take a time out and chill. You still have zodiacal Soul Mates Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn and Neptune in Pisces. Thank God for small favors, Mes Amis.

VIRGO (August 23 – September 22)–There are so many positives on your astrological ledger this month. Let me count the ways. For openers, your ruling planet Mercury will move into Scorpio–a Zodiac ally for you–on October 10. Venus will go retrograde in your soul mate sign, Scorpio, on October 6–but still compatible for you. Uranus in Taurus, an Earth Sign, will comfort you as well. Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn also Earth Signs will bolster you Virgos will not bother you. Take heart and move about this month without a lot of obstacles. It is always good news to know you are at peace and tranquility any time of the year.

CAPRICORN (December 21 – January 19)–You might want to revisit an old biblical story about where some folks built their house. One built his on sand and when the wind came, the house was blown away. The man who built his house on solid ground knew that it would withstand all elements—no matter what came his way, his house would still be standing. Check your foundation and make sure you built on terra firma because you will be sorely tested this month. If you have been reluctant to jump back in the Stock Market, wait awhile longer. This is not your best Solar Cycle, so stand pat.

Air Signs

airGEMINI (May 21 – June 20)–Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth but the Libra Sun and Mars in Aquarius are your Zodiac friends this month. The New Moon at 15 degrees of Libra on October 7 will also give you power blow-back. Mercury in Libra until October 10 will also aid and abet a lot of the things you want to say and do and perhaps buy. The thing about you celestial Twins is that one of you is always apt to say or do the right thing while the other is sulking in the corner. What’s happening with Saturn and Pluto is more about world events which you can’t change or do anything about.

LIBRA (September 23 – October 22)–The best news you might get the rest of the year is that your main squeeze may have no more juice left—so let him or her go and see what a time out brings you later. No one can surrender their Ego quicker or snatch it back faster than a Libra. What this Solar Cycle is teaching all of youu Scales of Justice types is that everything that has a beginning has an ending. For some of you, the end of the affair has been coming to a head longer than either of you have wanted to admit. December will be a more productive month all around.

AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 17)–Keep your motor running but do not jam it into “Drive” because it is jumping and jiving in Aquarius all month. It will slither into Pisces on November 16, but until then be more judicious where you go and what you do. After then you can continue with your carefully-laid plans. No one can think of the other man quite like you—always receive to share with others. A project or work opportunity that has been stalled will pick up around the middle of October. Whatever you do, do not abandon something whose time was premature. There is a time and season for all matters and your time is very close. Invest in a new computer. You are going to need one badly.

Water Signs

waterCANCER (June 21 – July 22)–Just when you think the bank is about to repo your car or house—and your money well has run dry—you will have an 11th hour reprieve from what looks like total disaster. You Cancers are known to plan better than most and you hardly ever get into situations with hair-brained ideas, so just be patient. You may have to refinance or ask for more time but you are not about to be homeless or relegated to walking. Mercury in retrograde has you in a bind, but keep the faith which you are famous for. God has a plan; count on it.

SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21)–“Nothing could be finer than the State of Carolina in the morning,” except this Solar Cycle for you tireless, fearless, never say “die” Scorpions. ‘Cause the best place to be this month is a Scorpio!’ Read the Sign of the Times above for all the good stuff blessing you and all your endeavors. For those of you who fall into the lower octave of the sign–sex addicts, drunks, dopers and “strokers”–go to rehab–clean up and get clearer– while you’ve got the Upper World on your side.

PISCES (February 18 – March 20)–Now that you have gotten over your innate tendency to fantasize and avoid reality, this month is going to be a real test for you. Let’s see if you can take some of those hard-earned strategies and have them pay off. Your blessing and curse is that your ruling planet Neptune is in Pisces, albeit retrograde, which lessens the impact of the energy and requirements from Neptune. Pisces tend to be dreamers and leaners and schemers, but also we can be artistic and creative, write symphonies that people want to listen to and books they want to read.

Couple of the Month: John Noonan and Kate Edwards Noonan

Kate’s thoughts:

I’ve known Albert for longer than I can remember! We first met when I was Director Of Creative Development at John Travolta Productions and he was a budding real estate agent who happened to know of a ranch property in Santa Barbara that he thought JT would love. John did. He bought it and Albert and I have been friends ever since. He was the only person I knew at the time who was game to explore alternative healing protocols, astrology and thoughts outside the box, so we were a match made in karmic heaven.

I’ve also been a talent manager in Hollywood for longer than I can remember. Besides JT, other actors who’s careers I’ve touched include Patrick Swayze, Mickey Rourke, Mark Harmon, Tyler Posey and Will Patton.

My greatest accomplishment is having been married to John Noonan for almost 33 years. We love each other, we love our dogs, (Joe, Smarty Pants and the recently departed Teddy). We love our extended family and friends and we love the Monarch butterflies that I’ve been raising since the spring. These transformative, magical creatures bring beauty to the world and it’s a privilege to have released 25 so far, into the wild blue yonder! They are a daily reminder that we are not who we think we are, that transformation is real and possible and that our spirits are meant to soar.

And of course…we adore Albert and the love, truth and beauty that he brings to the world each and every day.

John’s thoughts:

March 21,1994 was the day my life changed. I had been struggling with a soul sickness that I didn’t even know I had. My wife, Kate had introduced me to Albert some years before and one day, Albert invited me to come to the Sedona Intensive. Not knowing what this was and having done just about everything else imaginable to fix myself, I accepted. Albert was the first person to look me straight in the eye and say, “Take responsibility for your own life”. That was my awakening. He pierced through the armor I had carried around my whole life, so that I could finally be in touch with my authentic self. That person had been hidden away on the football fields of college athletics and even more so in the professional ranks. Some years later, after having received a Masters degree in Spiritual Psychology, I was able to come full circle by being part of the after-care team for the Sedona Intensive. I’ve lived in Los Angeles for the last 30+ years with my wife, Kate. I work as an actor and fitness trainer. I’m very fortunate and grateful for the life I have today, doing the things I have a passion for. I will be forever grateful to Albert and his team at the Sedona Intensive for putting me on the road to a successful, happy life.

Birmingham Holocaust Education Center Fund Raiser

Although I am not officially Jewish I am a devotee of the Holocaust Center in Birmingham, Alabama. My dear friend Cathy Ovson Friedman made me aware of BHEC and I decided I wanted to make friends of the Sedona Intensive aware of their unbelievably deep and abiding work for the  Center.

I encourage everyone to support this Center’s efforts to educate everyone about the work being done to make sure that through awareness of the horrors of the Holocaust the world will never have to survive such atrocities again.

The Sedona Intensive is making a donation to BHEC for $1,000.00.  Please join us in making a contribution as well.

Love and Gratitude, Albert Gaulden

More from their website: The Birmingham Holocaust Education Center (BHEC) seeks to educate the people of Alabama about the history of the Holocaust so that new generations will apply the lessons of the Holocaust to the construction of a more just, humane, and tolerant future. By preserving and sharing the stories of local Holocaust survivors and commemorating the events of the Holocaust and the lives of those who perished, the BHEC seeks to promote a moral and ethical response to prejudice, hatred, and indifference for the benefit of all humanity.

NEW BOOK by Albert Clayton Gaulden
Moments and Windstorms: Take Back Your Power

This ground-breaking book offers an in-depth journey through the author’s eye-opening addiction to alcohol and how he eventually got sober. Gaulden has written a number of books as well as being Founding Director of the Sedona Intensive, one of the country’s most highly regarded alternative personal growth programs.

The author shares all the ways God was leading and guiding him even when he was still drinking. “Most of us look at false paradigms to measure success in our lives. So much of where I went and the jobs I took helped me remember what I was to do as my life’s work.”

Gaulden’s book is divided into five parts. Each section explores different parts of his journey, incorporating all the places he’s been, the studies he’s made and the people he’s met. His point of view is that each client who sought his help made him a better person. At the end of the book, he has some daunting but hopeful words about the conditions of the planet Earth and what we need to do to survive as a race.

Couples Who Went to the Extreme to Save Their Marriage
An interview with Carl and Joyce Gioia in RedBook Magazine

When Joyce Gioia couldn’t think of anything else to save her marriage and solve the trust issues that were tearing her and her husband, Carl, apart, she decided to make an investment into what she hoped could be a life-long, loving marriage. They packed their bags and headed to the Sedona Intensive: A $16,000 week-long intensive therapy session that helps people release all self-destructive behaviors.

The purpose of this particular therapy was to help them become stronger individuals, and the counseling was never couple-based. In fact, they only saw each other once per morning at 7 a.m. when they attended a 12-step meeting. The meetings addressed addictions—but it had nothing to do with substance abuse—it was focused on things like work addictions and co-dependence issues.

Between the supervised journaling, visits with renowned mental health professionals, and their genuine will to make things work, Carl and Joyce were able to recover their relationship.

“I believed that the nature and the intensity of this self-learning experience would help us move beyond the impasse that was preventing a resolution in our marriage,” Joyce said. And she was right. By looking at each other as total individuals, they were able to discover what was most important to their spouse and cater to those specific needs. Two years have passed and they’re more in love than ever.

Q & A

RedBook – Explain what the Sedona intensive is.

The Sedona Intensive is a rigorous, weeklong self-exploration. During the week, through concentrated journaling and visits with mental and physical health professionals, we each invested a lot of effort and energy in self-discovery. This self-learning experience is designed and managed by well-respected psychologist Albert Gaulden and includes daily meeting with Albert to monitor progress and ensure results.

RedBook – How did you find out about it?

My brother, who is a nationally acclaimed Emergency Department physician, had gone through this experience with his wife Amber and highly recommended it to us.

RedBook – What did you do at the Sedona intensive?

Every day, we began by attending a 12-Step Meeting with AA. Then, we had a rotating schedule of appointments with a psychologist, a psychiatrist, a yoga instructor, and/or an energy-balancing professional, and of course, Albert. In our “spare” time, we took independent hikes, though the spectacular Sedona canyons.

RedBook – What made you decide to go to this?

We decided to do it, because nothing else seemed to be working to resolve our trust issues. I believed that the nature and intensity of this self-learning experience would help us move beyond the impasse that was preventing resolution of our marriage.

RedBook – How did it change your relationship?

We both worked very hard to discover why we engaged in self-destructive behaviors that stood in the way of our sharing the loving relationship we both thought possible. Two years later, we are more in love than ever before.

RedBook – Would you recommend it to others?

Yes, absolutely, if the two people are prepared to approach the experience with open hearts and minds and they are truly interested in doing the work to strengthen the relationship.

Lindsay, as I said before, “I honestly do not know what else we might have done that would have been so effective in turning the relationship around”.

Joyce Gioia

What Our Clients Are Saying About The Sedona Intensive

“The Sedona Intensive was a life changing experience for me. I had been searching for happiness and serenity for over 20 years and as a result of the Intensive I found that I was looking in all the wrong places. I not only experienced what happiness and serenity truly are but now understand the process needed to maintain and enhance that state of being. It doesn’t mean that I don’t experience the ups and downs of life but what it does mean is that those downs do not even come close to impacting me the way they used to. There is now a presence of mind that provides clarity and purpose that did not exist for me prior to the Intensive.

It is impossible to put a value on such a quality of life enhancing experience that the Sedona Intensive provides the person willing to do the work.It is by far the most significant thing I have done in my 62 years.

I came across a quote last week that summed up what I experienced and learned while attending the Sedona Intensive – ‘Once you stop clinging and let things be, you’ll be free’ -Bodhidharma (440ce – 528 ce), the Zen Teaching of Bodhidharma: A Bilingual Edition.”
