You are always reading insights about you as well as what’s up with people and causes that we wholeheartedly support. But time to time people ask about who I am and how I feel about a lot of things that they have to deal with in their own lives. We will make changes to the photos and pictures every few months, so you will have bits and pieces about my take on me and what I value or what I know not to be true for me. I hope you enjoy the open door to me and my character. — Albert Gaulden

leave behind us, footprints on the sands of time.”

Enjoy the Leo Newsletter for 2017!
The Signs of the Time–Eclipses make most of us loopy because these celestials involving the Sun and the Moon demand that we change. Who likes that thought? I would like to say here and now that those of us on a Spiritual Wave Length seem to embrace newness, and yes, altered attitude better than those who have invested too much in politics, religion, and ‘give me more, more, and then some more.’
Mr. Darby, my Wire Fox Terrier is staring at me and asking me in his own wordless way, “Are we at the good part of Leo’s Newsletter yet?”
For those of us who follow transits, including Eclipses, know that life is about facing karma that happened eons and life times ago. It is about Acceptance of what we have created by the steps we’ve taken, or not, to get to some of the nutty and oftentimes destructive dangerous cul-de-sacs that we end up in. So the first Eclipse is a Lunar Eclipse Full Moon at 15 degrees of Aquarius on August 7th. Aha, so I wonder what that means? Glad you asked someone who knows.
For starters, Leos like there to be excitement and a thrill-a-minute. But since the power of this Eclipse is with Aquarius, you with a big mouth to roar are probably going to hear, “Would you turn the volume down on your music box. Better yet, turn it off.” A good rule of thumb for all of us is to see where we are as opposed to where we need to be.
There is a Solar Eclipse New Moon at 28 degrees of Leo on August 20th. If you can rein in the tendency to go hither and yon with no GPS you will have some doors open wide and opportunities flood your life. All Fire Signs, Aries and Sagittarius will share this prediction as well as Air Signs, Gemini, Libra and Aquarius.
And then along came that interrupter of all carefully-laid plans, Mercury retrograde. Mercury in Virgo goes retrograde on August 12th until it goes direct on September 5th. Since this retrograde involves Virgo which is ruled by the planet Mercury the transit brings to mind this quote from the play Marmion by Sir. Walter Scott: “Oh! What a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive.”
Fire Signs
ARIES (March 21 – April 20)–If you look at the compatibilities between Leo and Aries this Solar Cycle there is no denying that you lords and ladies of high energy can get a lot done. However, things are changing all around us. Even in the celestial overlay we must look beyond potential for self-gain. You feisty firebrand Aries can do a lot of good to help others. As Kabbalah reminds us, “Receive the Light to share.” The Lunar Eclipse Full Moon on August 7 and the Solar Eclipse New Moon on August 21 will aid and abet all your hopes, wishes and dreams. Don’t forget the notion of the tithe. In addition to being the powerhouse of the Zodiac, you can also be the most generous.
LEO (July 22 – August 21)–The watchword for you Lions and Lionesses this month is CAUTION. Although this is your Solar Cycle there are a lot of indications that you may drink the Kool-Aid and make some financially-disastrous decisions. Eclipses are as much a warning sign as filled with opportunities. And mid-way through the month there is that Mercury retrograde to consider. The good fortune for you is that you have all these red alerts to steer you away from risky business. This may be a good time for you to donate a few dollars to needy causes. One of the high points of Mercury retrograde periods is to weigh and balance the negatives with the positives–so that when this aspect passes you are prepared to make a sound choice of what to do.
SAGITTARIUS (November 21 – December 20)–Oftentimes hordes of us feel as if we need to climb the Himalayas to find a Master Teacher or ford the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon to push our limits. There is a great story told by Paolo Coelho in his narrative masterpiece, The Alchemist, in which his central character Santiago a shepherd boy has a dream about his need to find his personal Grail. He encounters many people on his voyage which ultimately takes him to Egypt and the Great Pyramids. Not finding what he was looking for, a wise man tells Santiago that what he seeks is to be found back home in the church yard where he worshipped.
Earth Signs
TAURUS (April 21 – May 21)–Not one other sign in the Zodiac can withstand tough times quite like Venus-ruled Taurus. Told that there are going to be lean times ahead, a Taurus will cut back to save more and spend less. Now how he feels about someone or something is a different thing. Taurus can be one of the most thin-skinned sorts in the Zodiac. The Bull will give off stoic vibes when inside he or she feels like they are unloved and unwanted. Money, property and prestige always seem to be their three most prized possessions. Quoting scripture or Benjamin Franklin does no good. These tough hides come to their truth in their own slow-boat time.
VIRGO (August 23 – September 21)–Your flash card for this Solar Cycle is DO NOTHING. Particularly with Mercury retrograde in Virgo you are most at risk to stand your ground. This would not be a good time to change jobs. If the offer is solid at this time it will keep until the retrograde passes. With Saturn in Sagittarius squaring you and Neptune, the great deceiving planet, opposing you the best route for you to do is stick to what you’ve got and make no rash decisions. A restful vacation would be a good idea. Yoga meditation classes would even do you better. Find someone you trust and get rid of mind-speak that nags and confuses you.
CAPRICORN (December 21 – January 18)–A sneak peek at all that you Capricorns are and you would never pick July-August as the prime time of the year for you Goats. You are just a couple of months from making a big splash from an idea or a company you started or invested in. Keep refining and tending to the business you’re dealing with on your own drawing board. Planets have to align and perhaps conspire to give us our launch date with concepts and game plans. Continue to tinker and tap into that patience of Job nature which you emulate like no other sign. Toward the end of August you’ll hear some good news and documents to substantiate what someone is telling you.
Air Signs
GEMINI (May 22 – June 21)–Nothing is in your way this month to the mountaintop of success except your internal self-doubt. Let us give you some celestial tips to get you through one of the best months you will have the rest of the year. The Lunar Eclipse Full Moon is in an Air Sign–right down your strike zone. The Solar Eclipse New Moon in Leo just happens to be of one of your most compatible signs. Say, “Cheese.” Do you want to know what is so likeable about you Twins? No matter where you go and who you meet–whatever they preach or try to teach–you just smile and act as if you are his or her latest convert. Not! Look around at all your blessings and thank God for what He/She/It has put in your life.
LIBRA (September 22 – October 21)–With Sun/Mars in Leo and Jupiter in direct motion in Libra you are probably feeling more like your old self. Both Lunar and Solar Eclipses benefit you. The Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius greatly lifts all personal and professional opportunities that come along. The Solar Eclipse New Moon in Leo will also help all projects. What has returned to your house is equanimity and clear-headedness. Something that was promised in March will come marching back into plain sight at the end of August. If any sign deserves a break and a leg-up it is you Librans.
AQUARIUS (January 19 – February 17)–Since there is a Lunar Eclipse Full Moon at 15 degrees of Aquarius on August 7 you may find yourself going through an emotional quandary under this transit. Lunar Eclipses are always about something or somebody upsetting you that you can’t quite put your finger on. Rather than stew or give way to outbursts that neither you nor anyone else will understand, it is best to find someone you trust to unearth what is causing you to have these feelings. The thing about an Aquarian is that you are so private and so positive that you think you can handle anything that life throws your way. This is not the time or place to get together with close friends who may only tell you what you want to hear.
Water Signs
CANCER (June 22 – July 22)–With Venus in Cancer for most of this Solar Cycle you Crabs can do as you please–not that you don’t always take care of yourselves. But there are niggling irritants like Pluto in Capricorn opposing you. This is an aspect like someone staring at you daring you to make a mistake. Being under the looking glass is never pleasant. And then there is the square from Jupiter in Libra. Some of us see this aspect as a “damned if you do and damned if you don’t” dilemma. A Jupiter square always seems to highlight our excesses. The best advice for Cancers this month is to lean on the Venus and deal with the other transits when they show up.
SCORPIO (October 22 – November 20)–Although you have the natural reserves for being able to self-heal as well as help others make energy adjustments, this Solar Cycle you need to rest and relax. Many times you feel as if your gift has left you; no, rather it is God’s way to let you have a break from the intensity you Scorpions feel every moment of every day. It is a good month to do yoga. It is even better for a 30-day cycle of deep meditation. Hydrating the body–swimming in the ocean, lap swimming or alone time in a Spa Water Pod–will relieve and release all the stored-up energy that has been causing some of your anxiety. When attention-needy people hover, wave them away and tell them quietly, “Later. It is time for me.”
PISCES (February 18 – March 19)–You may be able to draw some power points from Venus being in Cancer this Solar Cycle. After all Water Signs work in harmony with one another. But you will still be contending with Saturn in Sagittarius needling you for a few more months. Your ruling planet, Neptune will be retrograde until Thanksgiving this year. You are in a perfect celestial space to start a manuscript or finish a book that you have been working with for a long time. Pisces have the hardest time letting go of something creative because your nature is to always think it needs more work. Maybe you ought to research finding a literary agent to represent you in a world you know so little about.

Couples Who Went to the Extreme to Save Their Marriage
An interview with Carl and Joyce Gioia in RedBook Magazine
When Joyce Gioia couldn’t think of anything else to save her marriage and solve the trust issues that were tearing her and her husband, Carl, apart, she decided to make an investment into what she hoped could be a life-long, loving marriage. They packed their bags and headed to the Sedona Intensive: A $16,000 week-long intensive therapy session that helps people release all self-destructive behaviors.
The purpose of this particular therapy was to help them become stronger individuals, and the counseling was never couple-based. In fact, they only saw each other once per morning at 7 a.m. when they attended a 12-step meeting. The meetings addressed addictions—but it had nothing to do with substance abuse—it was focused on things like work addictions and co-dependence issues.
Between the supervised journaling, visits with renowned mental health professionals, and their genuine will to make things work, Carl and Joyce were able to recover their relationship.
“I believed that the nature and the intensity of this self-learning experience would help us move beyond the impasse that was preventing a resolution in our marriage,” Joyce said. And she was right. By looking at each other as total individuals, they were able to discover what was most important to their spouse and cater to those specific needs. Two years have passed and they’re more in love than ever.
Q & A
RedBook – Explain what the Sedona intensive is.
The Sedona Intensive is a rigorous, weeklong self-exploration. During the week, through concentrated journaling and visits with mental and physical health professionals, we each invested a lot of effort and energy in self-discovery. This self-learning experience is designed and managed by well-respected psychologist Albert Gaulden and includes daily meeting with Albert to monitor progress and ensure results.
RedBook – How did you find out about it?
My brother, who is a nationally acclaimed Emergency Department physician, had gone through this experience with his wife Amber and highly recommended it to us.
RedBook – What did you do at the Sedona intensive?
Every day, we began by attending a 12-Step Meeting with AA. Then, we had a rotating schedule of appointments with a psychologist, a psychiatrist, a yoga instructor, and/or an energy-balancing professional, and of course, Albert. In our “spare” time, we took independent hikes, though the spectacular Sedona canyons.
RedBook – What made you decide to go to this?
We decided to do it, because nothing else seemed to be working to resolve our trust issues. I believed that the nature and intensity of this self-learning experience would help us move beyond the impasse that was preventing resolution of our marriage.
RedBook – How did it change your relationship?
We both worked very hard to discover why we engaged in self-destructive behaviors that stood in the way of our sharing the loving relationship we both thought possible. Two years later, we are more in love than ever before.
RedBook – Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, absolutely, if the two people are prepared to approach the experience with open hearts and minds and they are truly interested in doing the work to strengthen the relationship.
Lindsay, as I said before, “I honestly do not know what else we might have done that would have been so effective in turning the relationship around”.
Joyce Gioia

What Our Clients Are Saying About The Sedona Intensive
“The Sedona Intensive was a life changing experience for me. I had been searching for happiness and serenity for over 20 years and as a result of the Intensive I found that I was looking in all the wrong places. I not only experienced what happiness and serenity truly are but now understand the process needed to maintain and enhance that state of being. It doesn’t mean that I don’t experience the ups and downs of life but what it does mean is that those downs do not even come close to impacting me the way they used to. There is now a presence of mind that provides clarity and purpose that did not exist for me prior to the Intensive.
It is impossible to put a value on such a quality of life enhancing experience that the Sedona Intensive provides the person willing to do the work.It is by far the most significant thing I have done in my 62 years.
I came across a quote last week that summed up what I experienced and learned while attending the Sedona Intensive – ‘Once you stop clinging and let things be, you’ll be free’ -Bodhidharma (440ce – 528 ce), the Zen Teaching of Bodhidharma: A Bilingual Edition.”
