The Return of Al Gore

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

Go to fullsize imageal-gore-natal-chart.jpegAl Gore was born on March 31, 1948 at 12:53 p.m. in Washington, D.C.

You may not believe my opening salvos about Al Gore, former U.S. Senator, former Vice-President, former Democratic Candidate for President of the United States, Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Oscar Winner, distant cousin to Gore Vidal, son of former U.S. Senator, Albert Gore, Sr., and husband of Tipper Gore and father of a brood of four from Tennessee, but this tiny terror from Tennessee is a dynamo and a go-getter! He’s so mean he could wrestle Alabama football coach legend Bear Bryant’s bear for supremacy and whip the competition with one hand tied behind his back.

If he is so tough and indomitable, how did he lose the Presidency of the United States in 2000? Remember those hanging chads in Florida and the outrage that many of us felt that Al Gore was “robbed”? He might be tougher than he looks or acts, but the mean-spirited, ‘win at any cost’ mentality of the Karl Rove Republican Party steamroller would prove too much for even the fair and balanced Almighty. Karl Rove is evil to the core, but can you believe that television wants to hear from him when his dirty handiwork of the recent past screams from the battlefields of Iraq and malfeasance in the Oval Office? I can. I know a lot about television and how it mind controls.

Al Gore has his Sun Sign in Aries, Pluto, Saturn and Mars in Leo and Jupiter in Sagittarius-five planets, half of his chart in FIRE. Fire means that he is passionate and enthusiastic; that he has the mojo to do anything and everything as long as he is the long distance runner. But when his son was hit by a car while going to a baseball game with Al in April, 1989, there was an intensive shift to ‘family matters’ through a lot of counseling as his son had long and arduous physical therapy to be able to recover. During his son’s rehabilitation, Gore wrote his best-seller, Earth in the Balance. Bill Clinton chose him as his running mate in 1992 and Gore served as Vice-President to Clinton’s Presidency for eight years. And then defeat snatched from the jaws of victory sent him into his cave of self-reflection.

What verifies or disputes the reputation that Al Gore has for being stiff and slow to respond to questions? I have said a million times that you have to look at the whole chart to analyze and make determinations about who someone really is. In some sectors of the birth chart there could be invincibility and blessings from on high; in other parts, struggle and disappointment.

Al Gore has the Moon at 3 degrees of Capricorn-which makes him slow and deliberate and oftentimes when he speaks, he misspeaks. Capricorn is the tortoise in the race of life; slow, but often finishes what others start. Speaking of not finishing things, he is an Aries, famous for the loud and resounding “ta da” and then fizzles or runs to the next thrill in the big top.

But Gore has those three Leo planets in a close trine to his 10 degree Sun. He has proved in the last four years that he is not finished yet-he may be getting his second wind (or win). He has Venus in Taurus-loyal to a fault-we saw that in his allegiance to the Clintons. Remember how poorly they supported him in 2000? Their collective charts show that they are incapable of supporting anyone but themselves. It’s all about the Clintons.

Mercury in Pisces-Mercury is in its detriment here-he can dream but more often we can not live in his air castles. He has Mars in Leo square his Venus-at deep levels he compares himself to that powerful father and was always in the shadow of the “bigger than life” personality and show dog persona of Bill Clinton. Al Gore is definitely insecure about how people perceive him. When he became the father of global warming and show cased the threat to existence itself through environmental suicide, he found his calling, because the klieg light shifted from him as a person onto all of us as caretakers or abusers of the Planet Earth.

His Jupiter in Sagittarius (that sign’s ruling planet by the way) makes him optimistic and hopeful no matter how late in the game is out world and no matter how much turnaround we all have to make, Al Gore is a rousing cheerleader for change.

Don’t be surprised if Barack Obama chooses Al Gore to be his running mate. Yesterday Obama chose the former head of the Hillary Clinton campaign to be one of the three who vets his short list of possible contenders for Vice-President of the United States. Al Gore is not done. Now that the Clintons are done-over and out-Al Gore is still standing. Three cheers for Al Gore. Rah! Rah! Rah!

What can the stars tell us about the death of newsman Tim Russert?

 Let’s take a closer look…

Tim Russert was born on May 7, 1950 in Buffalo, New York. No time of birth available.Go to fullsize image

russert-natal-chart.jpeg  russert-death-chart.jpeg

Tim Russert was a non-nonsense Taurus-determined and single-purposed-with Mercury, how one thinks and communicates, in Taurus, retrograde. Retrograde makes him more capable of being open-minded. But what solidified his reputation as an effective interviewer of the most powerful men and women in the world-he asked the tough questions and never let up until his subject answered them-was his Grand Earth Trine: Moon in Capricorn (cold and detached), Sun/Mercury in Taurus and Mars in Virgo (picky, critical and analytical-he got what he was digging for every time).

He had Jupiter in Pisces (caring and visionary) trine his Uranus in Cancer (for all his noise about ‘family matters’ Tim was not a carbon copy of his dad or anyone else in the family).

When someone dies as young as Tim Russert was, everyone comes out of the woodwork to ‘praise Caesar’ and praise Tim they did. But he was not one who got too close to any of his subjects-he would not allow anything to get in the way of his subjective reporting, which is borne out in his natal and progressed charts. My favorite moment with Tim Russert was an interview with Hillary Clinton when she was trying to waffle on NAFTA and he made her declare, something almost impossible with either of the Clintons.

The signals for death for Tim Russert were transiting Pluto has been squaring his natal Venus in Aries for six months-this indicates that he has been at risk for some time but more than likely had not had a check-up recently, especially a medical examination that would have uncovered his heart condition. Death is always accompanied by ‘ease and comfort’ transits as well. His progressed Moon in Pisces was trining his progressed Sun in Cancer. Trines are usually always benefic. Uranus was transiting at 22 degrees of Pisces opposing his natal Mars at 22 degrees of Virgo-both Uranus and Mars indicate sudden happenstance, and Virgo is always a mark of health issues. Both would indicate trigger points for sudden death.

Tim Russert will be hard to replace because we are living in a currency where everyone in public life seem to crave being loved and adored-it’s the Oprah syndrome cloned with the Sally Field cry at the Oscars a few years ago: “You love me; you really do love me!”

God bless Tim Russert. I will miss you more than you know-I loved watching “big pieces of stuff” squirm, forced to tell the truth to a gentleman and a scholar on national television.

Katieism: An uncomfortable feeling is not an enemy…

Byron Katie

An uncomfortable feeling is not an enemy. It’s a gift that says, “Get honest; inquire.” We reach out for alcohol, or television, or credit cards, so we can focus out there and not have to look at the feeling. And that’s as it should be, because in our innocence we haven’t known how. So now what we can do is reach out for a paper and a pencil, write thought down, and investigate. This week’s prayer visualization
The world is being challenged by soaring oil and food prices as never before. We will again focus our prayer toward this growing problem, specifically uplifting everyone who has a creative solution to this problem. Also, as usual, we will focus on the needs of our participants, sending a prayer visualization for all those experiencing grief, conflicts, illness, or just a need for clarity about a decision.

Follow-up discussion
Can each of us intuit a solution to the world’s resource problem? We’ll explore more about what to do.

______

Our twice-monthly gatherings have been making a powerful difference, both in people’s individual lives and the world at large. Many of you have written us saying that the energy generated from this network of spiritually-minded participants is “indescribable,” and we look forward to continuing this healing circle of focused prayer. Like all prayer experience devoted to helping others, many participants have felt the results in their own bodies and received guidance for their own lives.

Research tells us that the more people praying together, the more powerful the prayer and the greater the level of energy felt by the participants. We invite you to join the largest regular prayer network in the world. If you would like to take an active role in maintaining a circle of positive intention across the globe, while going deeper and heightening your own spirituality, join us on:

EXTENDING PRAYER FIELDS
For centuries, religious scriptures, poems, and philosophies have pointed to a latent power of mind within all of us that mysteriously helps to affect what occurs in the future. We are now finding that this prayer power is a field of intention, which moves out from us and can be extended and strengthened, especially when we connect with others in a common vision.

French heartthrob Gilles Marini–just another pretty face or destined for stardom?

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

Sex and the city the movie premier,New YorkLet’s take a closer look.Gilles Marini was born January 26, 1976 in Grasse, France. No time of birth available.gilles.jpg

For those of you who did not see Sex and the City-the Movie, you may not know that tall, dark and sultrily handsome French actor Gilles Marini bared all in a scene with Kim Cattrell looking on as he stepped out of a wetsuit and showered with as much nudity as mainstream movies allow. (It is amazing that it is okay to show women naked as a jaybird, but not men. Double standard? Just asking). There was another scene where he was having sex with two women in the condo next door. He had little to say but a lot to show and tell. Could this be all that this newcomer to the big screen has…show and tell?

Gilles is an Aquarian (walks to the beat of his own drummer-thinks outside the box) squared by Uranus in Scorpio (he was born under the stars of sexual freedom and promiscuity). With Saturn (restriction) at the critical 29 degrees of Cancer (nurturing and controlling) oppose his Mercury (how one thinks) at 28 degrees of Capricorn (cold and detached), retrograde-he is innately shy-and had too much female influence growing up. From the aspects under which Marini was born you will not see this sizzler throwing it around in bars or cursing the paparazzi as he speeds off with the likes of Lindsey Lohan or Paris Hilton mugging. He is married with kids-not dead or disinterested, but he happens to act and model for work, it is not his life.

Rather than slipping into abject narcissism and playing off his extreme good looks, Gilles has more than a bit of humility, and with Venus in Capricorn he could be a bit cold and distant. With the Moon in Sagittarius conjunct Neptune, he would have been destined for being an actor-but he could also have been a professional athlete. He is very idealistic. This Francophile also likes to travel and discover. He is somewhat of an old soul and a kid at heart.

The strength of his chart comes from his Mars (energy and aggression) in Gemini trine (same element) Pluto (transformation and need to eliminate) in Libra (fair and balanced).

A one shot wonder or staying power? Gilles will continue to have small parts and then within one year he will hit it big in a foreign film that strikes a chord with American audiences. He will rise in popularity in direct proportion to how he develops his family man image and continues to show that he acts as good as he looks. This man has staying power and the true grit to go with it.

Hearing the Truth: Literal Listening

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

Byron KatiePractice listening to others in the most literal sense, believing exactly what they say without attaching a future to it, and do your best to resist falling into your own interpretations about the information they share with you.

For example, someone might give you a compliment, and you interpret that to mean that the person has ulterior motives. Our interpretations of what we hear people say to us are often far more painful or frightening than what people actually say. We can hurt ourselves with our misconceptions and our thinking for others.

Try trusting that what they say is exactly what they mean: not more, not less. Hear people out.
Catch yourself when you want to finish a sentence for someone, either aloud or in your mind.
Listen. It can be amazing to hear what comes out when we allow others to complete their thoughts without interruption. And when we are busy thinking we know what they are about to say, we often miss what they are actually saying.

You might want to consider these questions:

- What can be threatened if I listen and hear literally? ?- Do I interrupt because I don’t want to really know what people have to say? ?- Do I interrupt to convince them that I know more than they do? ?- Am I attempting to convey an image of self-confidence and control? ?- Who would I be without the need to possess those qualities? ?- Do I fear appearing unintelligent??- Would people leave me if I heard them literally and no longer engaged in manipulative games?
