Who is Mayor Michael Bloomberg and would he make a good President of the U.S.?

Let’s take a closer look…

michael-bloomberg-natal.jpeg

Michael Bloomberg was born on February 14, 1942 at 3:40 pm in Brighton, Massachusetts.

Michael Bloomberg has a stellium (three or more planets in a sign) in Aquarius, the sign that I repeatedly designate as the Great Communicator and portends that he would be a Statesman with Vision. Not only was Bloomberg born on Valentine’s Day-which might make him America’s Sweetheart-but he has Venus, Mercury, Moon and Sun in Aquarius. He is a self-legislated, an ‘out of the box’ mystic who has a sense of where this country needs to go and what it needs to do in order to get back on track. Inflation is soaring, recession has taken root and we are in a war no one wants and we have been losing status as ‘favored nation’ for many years. We use more than our share of resources and it shows in the obesity escalation in our 50 states.

Michael has Cancer ascending, the birth sign of our country, which makes the Moon the ruler of the chart. His Moon is at the exact degree in Aquarius as in the birth chart of the United States of America. His Jupiter is in Gemini-another indicator of incredible communication skills and able to sell his ideas-in perfect alignment with his Aquarian planets. Mars, Saturn and Uranus are in Taurus afflicting the Aquarian planets but they trine his Neptune in Virgo. All charts needs squares and opposition in order to challenge one to overcome and make progress in Soul Growth.

Overall Michael Bloomberg is hands down the most compatible person for the job of president of the United States. He decided today, February 28th, in a CNN column posted on the Internet not to run for the office. I wish that people like Bloomberg had a knowledgeable astrologer to give him these insights. He is in perfect alignment with what this country needs. We need Michael Bloomberg, and he has enough personal resources to run with his own pocket book open and not rely on government funding or ‘fat cat’ deep pockets.

Bloomberg mentioned in the CNN editorial that he would work to “steer the national conversation away from partisanship and toward unity; away from ideology and toward common sense; away from sound bites and toward substance.”

At a summit designed to bridge the divide between Democrats and Republicans, Bloomberg said in January ‘partisanship is limiting the nation’s progress.’

“People have stopped working together, government is dysfunctional, there’s no collaborating and congeniality,” he said. “America is being held back.”

In the opinion piece, Bloomberg said he’s hopeful that the current Democratic and Republican campaigns will address an independent approach to governing.

“I have watched this campaign unfold, and I am hopeful that the current campaigns can rise to the challenge by offering truly independent leadership,” he said. “The most productive role that I can serve is to push them forward, by using the means at my disposal to promote a real and honest debate.”

Bloomberg was elected mayor of New York in 2001, two months after the September 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center. He was re-elected in 2005.

Have our political candidates turned into a bunch of whiners and sissies?

Let’s take a closer look…

Cafferty FileCafferty: Bum rap for Clinton 3:20

Jack asks: Have the news media been unfair to Hillary Clinton?

http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/politics/2008/02/27/cafferty.file.wed.cnn?iref=videosearch

Today on Jack Cafferty’s Show on CNN he had a film clip asking if the press has been prejudiced against Hillary Clinton. He read pro and con emails from across the Heartland. Cafferty even cited an excerpt from Maureen Dowd a columnist The New York Times (if there is one woman I love outside of Ugly Betty and Bette Midler and Cathy Friedman and Margaret Wendt, it is Maureen Dowd-I read her before I do the comics or the Financial Pages-if you believe that I like comics or financials you need to call Laura Schlesinger) who in response to Hillary Clinton’s bellyaching about how beat up she has been in the media and that Obama always gets a pass, Dowd said that ‘it was because there is an utter open-minded press that Hillary Clinton lost 11 primaries and or caucuses in a row to Obama that she is still referred to as a contender’. Get ‘er, Maureen. Read Dowd in the Times. She is so brilliant and bright that the lights on Broadway dim when her column hits the streets.

I have said it once and a million times over, I am aghast and amazed and it is unbelievable the amount of money that these candidates are spending to become president of the United States. It is estimated that when the whole dog and pony show is over collectively the candidates will have spent over a billion dollars. Every one of them ought to be ashamed of them selves and take time out for some major psychotherapy because their priorities are way out of line with what we need to be spending money on. How about poverty? Seen any down and out on Main Street lately? And can we forget the deficit we will be wrangling with for umpteen years? Does anybody care about the men and women coming back from war with a lot of psychic damage, physical ruin and no future? ‘Mister, can you spare a dime for me and my hard time in Afghanistan,’ says the lame soldier with no job to come home to and nobody who seems to give a damn. Did you see the latest figures on how many people have lost their homes? (I must admit that malfeasance in the mortgage debacle was shame on the lender and those who were looking for ‘too good to be true’). Could the recession be about taking a cold hard look at what is worth your hard earned dollar and what is simply feeding an addiction? Recession could get you to look at your priorities with a clearer eye.

But the question is about whiners and sissies. And I must say that if my child (and I don’t have one or more thank God-they would have left town a long time ago because I still think ‘work for what you get’ is the Golden Rule where I live and grew up) acted like these silly nincompoops I would take him or her out behind the wood shed and teach them the rules of civility. The bottom line is that politics is about people like the Clintons and the Bushes who are power mad and who have so little concern for the welfare of you and me that it’s scary. Power is what they want and when they get it they run out of excuses when things start to go south and start playing the blame game. Whine, whine, whine you big puss and sissies.

But the Tammy Whinette Award of the day goes to someone I like, but she still qualifies for the big whiner of the week. Whoopi Goldberg, who now is in the seat vacated by Meredith Vieira vacated by Rosie O’Donnell on ABC’s The View, was overlooked in producer Gil Cates’ montage of past hosts on the 80th Oscar Show. On The View on Monday the co-hosts were up in arms and Whoopi choked up at the omission.

I reference Whoopi and all of you to the second paragraph above about all the things in the world that could make me cry but Whoopi Goldberg being left out of the montage of past hosts of the Oscar Show is not one of them. Some movies make me cry-a lot of classical music, especially when diva Ashley Tripp Bell is singing-rainbows, weddings, and bassinets in nurseries, poverty in Slag Town, USA or Darfur, anywhere people are oppressed and slaughtered in the name of Jesus or Allah, the death of a friend like my muse Leonora or soul mate Beirne-but never when a society dame chips a finger nail or her maid quits or a dope loses a mint in the Market-or when Whoopi is left out or a presidential candidate boo hoo’s that she is being mistreated. Go back to Meanness School and get tougher. You signed on for Power and Power takes the soul from your body.

Can Justice be blind and subverted by an ego-maniacal Prosecutorial System?

Monday, February 25th, 2008

Let’s take a closer look…

Dateline Sunday, February 24th

After a very busy and draining week-end I decide to take to my bed before the Oscars are handed out tonight-you know, read a little, cat nap, and/or work the New York Times crossword puzzle-chill as the ‘twenty-ones’ say. Kid Bell and I are such movie aficionados that you would think we were Daniel O. Selznick and Samuel Goldwyn with a pair of fake-gold statuettes for Gone with the Wind and The Best Years of Our Lives, respectively. We love movies and usually agree on what’s good and what’s not.

I was mindlessly reading a good fictionalized book about Fidel Castro and the Bay of Pigs and trying to solve my puzzle with the television turned on to MSNBC, when all of a sudden-you know those jolts that happen-I started paying attention to a special called In the Shadow of Justice about two men who had been tried and convicted for the murder of a bouncer in a New York nightclub more than fifteen years ago. Although I started paying close attention mid-way through the docu-drama, I was able to follow the thread of the story: two minority men had been railroaded by an overzealous District Attorney, and although the evidence was overwhelmingly against the Prosecutor, these men were in prison for fifteen years while all these machinations of the Court System denied, delayed and doubted that the two were innocent. A couple of men in the prosecutor’s office were convinced that they didn’t do the crime for which they were tried and convicted.

One young man from the Dominican Republic was set free and then immediately rearrested by the Immigration Department so they could deport him as an undesirable, which they summarily did. But the second defendant was kept in prison while those rusty, slow and oftentimes dead still wheels of justice were supposedly moving toward a new appeal to the Judge in the case to dismiss his charges.

I am such a big old sissy and moved to tears when I see this last defendant’s heavily made-up, clanging cheap jewelry, big old mama crying over her son, and the tears won’t stop when a detective who had retired from the detective force because he felt injustice, not justice, had been done followed this case through to the last appeal cried at the verdict as well. Because the evidence to keep him incarcerated was not there, he was released. Big mama and the detective and a few defense attorneys and I bawled our eyes out.

But that was not the end of this young man’s misery. The District Attorney filed new charges and he was retried-and was unanimously found Not Guilty by all twelve jurors.

The District Attorney issues a statement, ‘the people have spoken.’ Yeah, and you would rather have had an innocent man spend the rest of his life in jail rather than to admit you were wrong.

There were very powerful on-camera interviews with several men from law enforcement and the legal system who said that the problem with the Justice System is that those who gather evidence and arrest suspects and try these cases often do so with an arrogance and an immutability that does not allow for the real story to be told-oftentimes, for the real evidence to make it to trial. We know that hundreds of men and a few women have been freed from prison when relatively-new DNA proves them innocent. A young man from Long Island, New York was in prison several years for murdering his parents, and after reviewing suppressed evidence about the deceased parents’ shady business partner who was in the area at the time of the crime, was released from prison. The District Attorney is threatening to retry him.

We live in a country that guarantees one is ‘innocent until proved guilty’, but those who run the judicial system think that they are entitled to make a case like they want to and the evidence be damned. In this column I have written about Nancy Grace who stamps suspects ‘guilty as charged’ with little to no hard evidence to support her claim; just an old wound from the murder of her fiancée many years ago in Georgia. She can’t seem to get over it and those who are charged are convicted on her show night after night.

Ladies and gentlemen, I write “Wake up” “Snap out of it!” We are in a time when we need to be conscious and aware of all that is going on in our lives and make sure that those accused of crimes, especially minorities who are more likely to be charged with a crime, get their day in court with all the evidence, especially that that is not planted to make the case for the prosecution, comes to the courtroom for the right decision to be made.

What does the astrological chart of the United States say about us and what does our future hold?

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

Let’s take a closer look…

The birthday of the United States is July 4, 1776 at 2:13 am in Philadelphia, PA.

usa-natal-chart.jpeg

There has been a truckload of controversy over the exact time of the birth chart of the United States-astrologers are evenly divided on which chart they believe is accurate. Many erect the chart for 10 p.m., but I prefer the time I have assigned because Gemini Rising matches the personality of the people of this country more than the later time does.

Our Rising Sign or Ascendant is Gemini with Mercury, the ruler of the Chart, in Cancer, retrograde. Retrograde always means that we have a lot of past life lessons to learn and amend. (Oh shush-past lives are more authentic than any other thing I have ever remembered). As a matter of fact Venus, Jupiter, the Sun and Mercury are all in the sign of nurturing, but controlling Cancer. We know we nurture to our detriment-we have tried to feed and clothe the world-a lot of whom have always been and always will be our enemies-and we may run out of money in the next ten years-forced to feed our own flock and let the rest of the world pick up a hoe if they want to be eat; the work ethic needs to be exported to all these countries who look to us for billions of dollars each year. Studies prove that most of the money goes to government officials and not to the people who need it.

Uranus, the rule of our Tenth House of reputation and honor, is on top of the Ascendant of the chart, of course, in the Sign of Gemini. And might I add, Mars-the warrior, the saber rattler-the ‘my daddy can kick your daddy’s arse’, cock of the walk attitude-is also in Gemini. Gemini can be a greater communicator and a charismatic legislator-and they can also talk out of both sides of their mouth and mean nothing. Nada. We have a lot of fences to mend and a lot of real estate to get out of and a lot of good will that needs to be restored if we are to ever be considered a favored nation again-ever!

The Moon of the USA chart is at 18 degrees of Aquarius. I tell you this because the Solar Eclipse New Moon on February 6th was at that degree-great changes and a time and place for a Great Communicator-a visionary-to step forward on the nation’s stage. Was that someone Barack Obama? Keep reading. Keep watching. Put your head and your heart together and vote your fully aware and educated conscience.

Pluto was at 27 degrees of Capricorn in the birth chart. As those of you know who read these postings frequently, we are having our Pluto return. It takes Pluto approximately 250 years, give or take a year or two, to go through all the signs of the Zodiac. Our Pluto return is a huge 15 years in duration, and in the next 8 to 10 years we are going to have Pluto oppose our four planets in Cancer. Huge challenges are ahead for us-we will either sink or swim under the demands of Pluto.

Pluto opposed our Natal retrograde Mercury in Cancer in the birth chart, which was born out with the difficulties we have had from our infancy. We have fought a Civil War and recovered; we have gone through Two World Wars and thrived; our country has weathered a Stock Market Crash and subsequent Great Depression and until recently had unprecedented prosperity.

From now through 2023 we are going to go through a vast reconstruction of all facets of our lives-from social changes that beg to be made-children being better educated and also better disciplined-tell them ‘I’ll just say no to drugs for you’ and have someone strong enough to say that young people are our future but not if they cannot work for what they get; to economic reconstitution with a better watchdog of the Stock Market and Banks (in Reagan-speak, ‘Mr. Banker, bring down those usurious interest rates!’) and all Real Estate Mortgage malfeasance; we need to put our faith in a God-a Higher Power-rather than worship at the throne of cars and houses and clothes and bling and the way we look and how much we can accumulate. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, you can think that the gravy train will never stop-just hiccup here and there-but I will tell you that if we don’t begin now you won’t want to be alive ten to twelve years from now. You think Al Gore is scary about Global Warming-wait until you see the runaway train that we don’t seem to want to stop and put on a straighter, sounder, smart track to keep us afloat.

Election night I did the Progressed Chart to see where we might be on November 4th. Interesting.

election-night-progressed-chart.jpeg

The Progressed Moon will be at 24 degrees of Leo-opposing our own Natal Moon at 18 degrees of Aquarius. It is like a Full Moon-outcome. Another scary aspect is that Venus will be in Aries oppose Mars in Libra and square Jupiter in Cancer-this is a Cardinal T-Square-this is not a good configuration-not at all! The Sun will be at 3 degrees of Pisces-which will connect to the Lunar Eclipse Full Moon that was on February 20th. As the Stage Manager of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town might say, ‘Folks, it’s show time!!!!!!!’

You would have to be living under a rock not to be able to understand the forecast I’ve written because we have had so much financial abuse from the Federal Government to money changers on Wall Street, both who have been digging us all a deep and dark and scary hole. No victims here folks. You and I created where we are because we have been (snore) asleep. So many of us have been in a trance to the way things are-it is as if we see disaster and look the other way when the hurricane did not destroy our house or the earthquake did not disrupt our lives or the arson-started fires did not burn our crib to the ground.

I will say it once again, a black man or woman is me and I am them. A Latino is my brother or sister and I am theirs. I am a Jew and a Muslim and a Christian-I am all that exists and I must be alert and alive that we rebuild together and we care what happens and that we share what we have without looking the other way. If there is a need and I see it, I want to be able to meet it or garner group support to do so.

Is it my Imagination or has Nancy Grace gone too far with her “guilty as charged” diatribes?

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

I should have fallen under the swoon of Nancy Grace from the first cockeyed, pursed lipped, scowling moment she came onto my TV screen. After all, she is tiny (always a plus-TV adds 10 – 15 pounds)-and to some folk’s eyes, attractive and she hails from Georgia. I have become a re-born Southerner, so reformed and retooled concerning my heritage that I am unable to see a red neck when I encounter one. Tabula rasa guides me and my thoughts daily. (Have they started to play the ‘rededicate your life to Christ’ hymn yet?). Now that I have set the stage let me enter left to let you know my answer to my question.

Nancy Grace had a very unfortunate thing happen to her eons ago-her fiancée was murdered and she helped put the perpetrator in prison. And she has gone on a tear ever since to see someone guilty of murder and mayhem with her one-sided, scurrilous remarks to her guests trying to let the viewer know what were the circumstances of a crime, who, if anyone, has been charged and what would be the prison sentence if found guilt. There was a case where a mother was accused of killing her infant and hiding the body. Nancy so viciously blamed the mother that the mother committed suicide. It was later determined that the woman did not murder her infant child.

Watch five minutes and see her cock her head and growl at guests who even hint that a suspect might not be guilty. See her broad brush the charges to fit someone who has been arrested. I am not saying that perpetrators should get away with murder or not to examine evidence closely and judiciously, but we are seeing to many innocent, mostly men, be freed from prison because an attorney or Common Cause judicial type used DNA to prove that they had been wrongly accused, tried and sentenced to prison or oftentimes to death row.

Friends of mine and I say that Nancy Grace is strapping these defendants into the electric chair before most of them have been formally changed. She seems to take the stance that, ‘so we make a few mistakes-so what?; we need to make sure no one gets away with murder.’ And I say to her, “Nancy Grace, you are getting away with murder-you are condemning suspects before they have had their day in court. And you do what you do because your Network brass likes the ratings. Have you no shame? Change diapers off camera and find a bit of compassion and open-mindedness when you oversee crimes and criminals with authoritative guests who need to be heard unlegislated by you. Did you know that Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, who wrote Death and Dying, said that all of us are capable of murder? Fall asleep tonight with that thought, your Grace.”

I am outing slanted journalism and those who practice it. Bill O’Reilly should allow both sides of an issue to be heard. Nancy Grace should look within herself and change whatever has caught her logic on a fish hook and be more open to all the evidence. You can call Bill and Nancy entertainment, but I think of each as an abomination.

Another Question No One Asked but I will Pose and Answer Here and Now

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

Do you find Bill O’Reilly of Fox News a pinhead and blowviator (the latter is not a word. It is O’Reilly-speak for “blow hard” or more specifically “one who is full of a lot of hot air”)? Do you think that he invites guests onto his show and then demeans and humiliates those who don’t tow the O’Reilly line? And have you felt as if the Network from which he speaks has a right wing agenda and hire supposed “journalists” to keep to that position. Since I’m asking I will answer, “Yes, yes and yes!”

By the way I could find no birth information on O’Reilly in order to do his chart. Well, ya know, some of those UFOers swear that aliens walk among us. Do ya think Bill is…nah; I have it on good authority that pinheads need not apply for alienship!

You can say that our Constitution advocates and protects freedom of speech-and he has the right to his speech as much as anyone else-but you don’t have to listen! From Day 1 my platform in writing for Astrological Answers has been to wake us all up-stir you and me from the ‘trance state’-to put your head and heart together and vote from the connectedness for who you want to be your President, or Senator or any elected official. Get proactive.

To watch or not watch pundits, that’s your business-but watch and listen from the inner self-let intuition tell you whether or not you can believe what they are saying. Follow what they say or get out of line. Legislate your own household-let your kids know that little girls can do anything little boys can-almost. Refuse to go to the movies if you feel that the production is valueless and/or prurient. Make your inner world the same as the face you show to the world. I know that people like you and me can change the culture and redesign the landscape.
